Who is AltSpace?

AltSpace is being set up by Foxbane Consulting Ltd. At the moment AltSpace is a trading name of Foxbane but in future might be created as a separate entity.

AltSpace falls out of the expansion of Foxbane Interactive and is being operated on a 'cost plus' model. The reason for this is clear, to get this off the ground takes time and money, being a non for profit would mean a great detail of effort ensuring the costs could be met from day zero. This would take ages to arrange the timing of the lease, the numbers and generally working with the scores of people involved.

Foxbane Consulting is launching this at our cost and hopefully would make a small profit. Time wise, time spent on existing clients would be far more profitable but we think this is an excellent idea and would enable a whole new level of 'connectedness' to help all Welingtonians.

Who is Foxbane??

The principal behind Foxbane Consulting is Steven Heath. Steven set up Foxbane Consulting  2 years ago as a boutique company that includes ICT contract negotiation, procurement advice and supplemental staffing for short term IT roles. The majority of work has been providing independent advice around ICT contracts, governance and engagement models and as 'on the ground' vendor management to the Public Sector.

Recently it has expanded into Web Development and Information Architecture. This is currently being referred to as Foxbane Interactive. Pete McVicar is the lead in this area.

Who are Steven & Pete?

Steven has been involved with the Internet since 1993 and is a former Product Director for the largest ISP in the Canada, General Manager of GreyInteractive West in Vancouver and a range of positions in New Zealand ranging from Ernst & Young, Optimation and Sybase. Steven was a member of the Hine Working Group that resulted in the fundamental change in the .nz ccTLD. He is also a former Councillor and Treasurer of InternetNZ.

Pete has been working on the web since 1997 and had a diverse range of roles, from ‘Web Graphics Designer’ to ‘Web Services Team leader’ and even been the geek in between. He currently sits on the New Zealand e-Government Web Standards Working Group.
